Procedure

Upper lid blepharoplasty is a procedure done under local anesthesia in an office/ daycare setup in which upper eyelid saggy skin and muscles and fat (if required) are removed. If it is droopy or saggy, the brow is also addressed with the upper lid blepharoplasty sometimes, and brow pexy can be done simultaneously to fix the brow. Sometimes there is volume loss and upper orbital or lower orbital margin, which needs to be addressed along with blepharoplasty, and either filler or fat grafting is required along with blepharoplasty. The sutures are applied along the skin crease that is removed 7th POD. No dressing is required. The patient can wash the eye immediately and had to apply a simple ointment daily until suture removal.

FAQs

Will there be scars?

The suture line is placed along the upper lid crease. So once the sutures are taken out, there will be a fine line scar along the crease, which is not visible and usually fades away with time, and eventually, no scar is visible.

What procedures can be combined with upper lid blepharoplasty?

You should always consult your problems in detail with your surgeon. The surgeon should address the complete rejuvenation of the eyes, which can include other procedures like:

Brow lift for brow pexy.
Forehead lift.
Treatment of dark circles around the eyes.
Lower lip blepharoplasty.
Eye bag removal.
Filler treatment.
Fat grating for eye hollowness.

How long the results last?

The patient usually achieves satisfying results 10-15 years post-surgery, but as aging is a continuous process, the patient may require finer touchups 10-15 years past surgery.

If my brow is sagging along with upper eyelid, will it be addressed along with that?

Yes, and it should be, your plastic surgeon should always address the brow and the lid and brow pexy along with upper lid blepharoplasty through the same incision moreover to attain the proper brow arch of the female. The medial brow depressing muscles can be handled along with that to give your brow proper shape. Your plastic surgeon should understand your needs and act accordingly.

What are the risk possible side effects?

Can brow lift be combined with blepharoplasty?
