In the postoperative period, the patient is usually discharged the same day. There will be some swelling that usually settles in a week or so. The liquid diet is advised from the very first day, followed by a soft diet for the next 5 days. A mouth wash is advised. The stitches are intraoral and absorbable needs not to be removed.
