Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic surgery used to augment buttocks by using autologous fat transfer. Autologous fat transfer is a technique used to harvest their own body fat, and the fat is transferred to preferential areas of buttocks to augment them. In BBL, the body areas like waist, abdomen, and thigh are sculpted in a particular way, and fat is used to enhance the buttocks to give it a youthful, voluminous, and perky shape.
There will be a small stab incision in fat transfer procedures from which the fat harvesting and transfer is performed. Incisions are just 2 to 4mm, and that too hidden inside the skin folds. In the case of implant insertion, 4 cm incision is placed in the intergluteal crease between the buttocks in the sacral region. With time the scar fades out and is barely visible.
Patients are asked to wear a special compression garment for 4 to 6 weeks for lymphatic drainage. Avoid lifting heavy weights for 4 to 6 weeks. And you should not sit directly on your buttocks for at least 3 to 6 weeks, preferably to avoid fat absorption.
